To fully implement the newly revised national standards for lightning protection, unify industrial technical specifications, improve the overall professionalism of lightning protection engineering design, inspection and operation & maintenance, and drive the standardized, regulated and high-quality development of the lightning protection industry, the national seminar on the promotion and implementation of updated lightning protection national standards was recently held successfully. Hosted by the National Technical Committee for Lightning Protection Standardization (SAC/TC 258) and co-organized by Qingdao Rekesh Electric Power Technology Co., Ltd. and other key industrial enterprises, the event gathered authoritative industry experts, regulatory representatives, technical backbones and front-line practitioners across the sector. Centering on the in-depth interpretation of revised national lightning protection standards, key technical implementation points and solutions to industrial technical challenges, the seminar delivered systematic and professional training and in-depth industry exchanges.
Lightning protection serves as a core safety component in electric power engineering, construction engineering, rail transit, new energy and many other fields, acting as a critical safeguard against lightning disasters and ensuring the safety of operational equipment and personnel. With continuous technological upgrades and increasingly stringent safety control requirements in the industry, a number of national lightning protection standards have been revised and officially implemented, putting forward more rigorous, detailed and standardized requirements for industrial practices, technical operations and quality management. The instructors systematically interpreted the revision background, key differences between old and new versions, applicable scenarios, technical parameters, inspection methods, acceptance criteria and implementation essentials of core updated national standards, including the GB/T 21714 series for lightning protection, GB/T 21431—2023 Technical Specification for Inspection of Lightning Protection Systems of Buildings, GB/T 33588.6—2025 Lightning Protection System Components (LPSC) – Part 6: Requirements for Lightning Strike Counters, and GB/T 46477—2025 Technical Specification for Lightning Protection of Radar Stations. In addition, they conducted in-depth analysis of common industrial technical bottlenecks, typical engineering cases and frequent on-site inspection errors, and provided targeted solutions to practical problems encountered by front-line teams in engineering construction, facility inspection, equipment selection and daily operation & maintenance, ensuring the training is both theoretically profound and highly practical.
